A scheduling tool built around availability, not date voting.    

WHEN was built around a frustratingly common problem: coordinating plans with multiple people. Existing scheduling tools typically require someone to propose specific dates and then ask participants to vote on each option. In practice, this often means guessing which dates might work before anyone actually knows where availability overlaps and having to propose a new set if those initial set don’t work.       

The product allows participants to communicate availability directly on a shared timeline rather than voting on predetermined dates. On mobile, users can paint availability with a simple drag gesture across multiple dates at once, while desktop users can click individual dates as needed. The interaction was designed to make schedule sharing feel lightweight enough to complete in seconds rather than minutes.

WHEN also recognizes that availability is rarely binary. Participants can distinguish between dates that are ideal and dates that are merely possible, giving organizers a more nuanced view of the group's preferences. For participants with wide-open schedules, shortcut actions such as "All Ideal" and "All Possible" allow an entire planning window to be completed with a single tap.

AVAILABILITY PAINTING        

Instead of selecting from predefined dates, participants visually paint their availability across a timeline, creating a faster and more flexible way to communicate scheduling preferences.        

NOT A POLL        

The product intentionally avoids traditional polling mechanics. Rather than voting on proposed dates, users provide availability first and allow viable options to emerge from the group's actual schedules.        

ONE TAP AVAILABILITY        

Participants with wide-open schedules can respond instantly using actions such as "All Ideal" or "All Possible." This eliminates repetitive date selection and allows large planning windows to be completed with a single tap.
        

DRAG TO PAINT INPUT        

Availability can be painted across multiple dates using a single drag gesture on mobile, dramatically reducing the effort required to communicate schedules across larger planning windows. On desktop, users can click individual dates directly, providing a more precise interaction pattern while preserving the same underlying workflow.
      

OVERLAP DETECTION        

Availability data from multiple participants is aggregated to reveal windows where the greatest number of people can attend, reducing back and forth coordination.       

IDEAL VS POSSIBLE

Availability is rarely binary. Participants can distinguish between dates that are ideal and dates that are simply possible, allowing organizers to see not only where overlap exists, but where the strongest opportunities for attendance are likely to occur.

GROUP COORDINATION        

The product supports everything from one-on-one plans to larger groups, helping organizers identify realistic scheduling opportunities without endless group chats.
